The next time you stumble across an ornate Iranian telephone :), do yourself a favor and bracket the exposures so you can process it as an HDR.  Subjects with fine details and broad tonal range like this are ideal candidates for HDR processing.  To enhance the strangeness of the scene, I captured the phone close up with a wide angle lens, then mixed color with black and white in Photoshop....(Post by Mark Johnson G+)
